Amina Haq, born in 1980, is one of Pakistan's most recognized and famous top model.
Haq was introduced by the famous stylist Tariq Amin. Initially Amina
Haq had difficulty adjusting into showbiz due to her father's (Mustapha
Khar) reputation as a corrupt politician however she managed to create
a space for her self.
Haq first caught the public eye when she was introduced as the new face
of the year in SHE magazine. After that, till this day it has been nothing
but up hill for Amina Haq.
She began modelling for the famous designer maheen khan as well as Sonya
Batla. In a Fashion Show in Paris, Amina caught the eye of the editor
of French Vogue and landed on the Cover of French Vogue with a centerfold
and interview. Amina had a new hightened celebrity status when she came
back home and soon contracts were coming from left and right.
Haq soon had a contract with Gul Ahmed (Famous Fabric design company) as well as Sunsilk and Lux. Amina has modelled for famous designers such as Deepak Perwani, Khaadi, HSY, Umar Syed, Nayna, Rizwan Beyg, Neelopher Shahid, and Maria B. Amina has also modelled for foriegn designers such as Donna Karen, Anne Taylor, Dior, and DandG. Moreover, Amina also recieved a contract from fructis and starred in three canadian commercials.
Haq is considered a Model in all aspects, other than being famous for her sexy catwalk and amazing shoots, Amina haq is also an amazing actress. She started with the Famous Drama serial Aik Pal (A Single Moment) and was recognized for her talent in acting. Some of Amina's other famous dramas include Chandni Ratien(Full Moon Nights) Mehndi (Henna) and Jaye Kahan Yeh Dil (Where should my heart go) Amina won the Lux Best Model of the Year Award twice in a row and won the Lux Best Actress award in 2004.
Haq also is currently on the Panel of judges for Best International Female Model Competition and is the Ambassader for Diplex Smile Again (A charity helping deformed or victims of abuse women). Amina also used to write for a cloumn in the sunday newspaper for Daily Times.
